Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Lily: A three year young Pit Bull /Pointer mix. She came from a local animal control where she was a shy girl who lacked confidence. The staff and volunteers worked on relationship building and it didn't take long for Lily to begin greeting them with excitement. Next they started training on basic commands, nosework and taking her to a weekly manners class. Lily shined through it all. They added leash walking, pack walking, and on leash intros to other dogs. It quickly became clear that Lily wants to learn and she wants to please, she was just never taught the social skills to do so. Then the staff and volunteers took her on outings and day home visits where they saw a side of Lily never seen in the shelter: Lily loves to cuddle. And when she looks at you with those big soulful eyes, your heart melts. They really looked hard for a rescue to take Lily because she was so stressed at the shelter. We met her and fell in love!
Lily is housetrained, knows sit, down, stay, come, and shake. Lily is both energetic and lazy and would love an owner (owners) who enjoy being both as well. Lily's adoption fee has been sponsored and is reduced to $150. Home checks are a requirement of adoption, so we ask you be in a 50 mile radius of her foster home in Montgomery, IL. For adoption information on Lily email animalheartline.org. Please fill out an application at animalheartline.org (under the Adoptions tab).
