My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY POST: Cocoa was found pregnant in a Walmart parking lot on a cold night in December. Within a day, she cuddled with her rescue owners on their warm couch. When she was ready to give birth, she retreated to her nice doggie bed inside a kiddie pool and underwent twelve hours of labor. She gave birth to Bernie, Colbert, Lyndon, Ruth, and Wendy. Cocoa took immaculate care of her puppies in the following weeks. She stayed and fed her puppies all day. She would quickly go outside to potty, only to rush back to her puppies. Cocoa was sweet and gravitated to all puppy visitors over the next few months. Over time, Cocoa gave her puppies independence. She played with her rescue's two American Bulldogs.

Cocoa loves her toys, especially toys from Walmart! She would rather play with her rescue owners than eat her food. Cocoa is still a puppy herself, as her vet estimates she is less than two years old and has had several prior litters. Cocoa weighs about 55 lbs. She has some trouble with new dogs, but has now been spayed and will begin training. Cocoa watched as families visited and adopted each of her puppies. While glad her puppies each found great families, Cocoa was sad she was overlooked. Cocoa still sleeps in the same doggie bed she gave birth in. She loves to sleep with her rescue owners. She especially loves to rest her chin over her rescue owners' necks. She is looking to be a loving and loyal member of somebody's family.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
