My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It got scarily close to Hannah's euthanasia time in a dismal Texas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of her own..it's all a matter of space. Hannah came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate rescuer (she has a soft spot for beautiful, sweet, at-risk pups!), Hannah was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. Her rescuer and shelter workers haven't stopped raving about this adorable girl ever since.

Hannah, at 9 - 12 months old and 26 lbs is a perfect size to be a great hiking partner...Colorado is such a perfect home for this sweet girl. She's a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany her favorite person on paths or trails.

We envision Hannah with in an uncomplicated, adult dog-crazy family. She would be overjoyed with spending her days with retirees who have the time and desire to include a beautiful and sweet girl in their lives. She would also be a great addition for a younger, active individual or couple. She would be overjoyed with the time and attention that these dog-crazy families put into their pups.

Hannah will be a very family-oriented and loyal, very loving pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this girl. A fun time for Hannah would be walks, hikes exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent just enjoying each other's company. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Hannah than to snuggle down on the couch..just hanging out with her family.

Hannah can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to the home that's just right for her. She is a low-maintenance dog (completely house trained and very respectful of her home) whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. She would shine with a visit from a positive reinforcement trainer ..and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and her people.

Hannah's Houston foster family described her as a lovebug and a sweetpea...she received one of the best foster report cards and temperament reports that we had ever received. Sadly, when Hannah went into what we had hoped would be her forever Colorado home..it was a mismatch. Our search now is to respect Hannah's great traits, and find exactly the right family for her.

Hannah is being fostered in a home in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
