My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Sissy’s Foster Parents:

Sissy is a beautiful beagle combo that ended up in a shelter because her owners had too many dogs and cats. The dog warden told us her previous family had multiple children and there were no issues. She is 4 years old and weighs 32 lbs. The dog warden said she was living in deplorable conditions but eventhough she’s had a bad life she is the sweetest girl ever. She had multiple litters and even her daughter ended up in the shelter with her. She has adapted to her foster home quite nicely. She is housetrained and has learned how to use a doggy door. She is excellent with the other dogs in her foster home and may do best with another dog as she’s always been with other dogs.
Sissy is pretty calm most of the time but does have a playful side and just yesterday was running with and chasing after the resident dog. She loves to take walks and we walk her each evening after work.
She is crated all night in our bedroom without a peep. If things get too crazy with the other dogs she will go lie down in the crate with the door open. She’s such a good girl that we leave her out while we are at work for 9 hours each day. At first she had a little separation anxiety but after she learned our routine and knew we were going to come back she was fine. When we leave for work she is usually lying on the bed with the resident beagle or sleeping on the couch.
She loves to be petted and likes to get her belly rubbed. She is a real cuddler and next to us is her favorite place to be. In the evening we all lie in bed and watch TV and she will curl up beside her foster mom under the blanket. She is a girly girl and enjoys dressing up in her sweater and shirts. We’ve not seen her pick up a toy yet but we think it’s because she’s never had one. Her shedding is minimal. She is a great dog that deserves a loving family.
