Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Helloooo, everyone! My name is Dixon D. I am a black male, around 2 years old, and I weigh about 70 lbs. I am a tall guy but with a slim body. Everyone that meets me says that I am so handsome with my airplane ears. I have been told that I have beautiful eyes. I guess I can agree with that, I am quite a good looking pup.
I came into SCLRR from a local shelter. I was found as a stray and a Good Samaritan turned me in. Thankfully the people at the shelter were super nice and found me a place with SCLRR. I had no social manners when I first got in but I spent 2 weeks in training and I learned sooo much. I am like a new guy now. I know sit, down, place and I walk nicely on leash. I am a good passenger in the car. I know how to use a doggie door. I am crate trained and I sleep in my crate at night but I can also sleep in the bedroom on a dog bed. Sometimes I go into my crate just to have a nap, door open and all.
I would prefer to go to an active family that will exercise me regularly. I love going out for walks or hikes. I would make a great jogging partner. I looove to play fetch. I love running around in the yard, I even entertain myself with a toy, throw it and then catch it. I would love to find a family that has a house with a big yard as I love spending my day hanging out outside in the sun. I would like to have another dog to play with in my new home but I could be an only dog as well.
I love toys and I need them to keep me entertained. After all, I am a young pup that needs some entertainment. I live here at my foster home with 3 other dogs and we all get along. My foster sister doesn’t like me much (I was told she is older and grumpier) so I respect her space. She told me once to back off and I am a good listener. Who am I to say no to a lady? One of my furry friends here is close to my age, his name is Cooper and he is the one I play with the most. We both like toys and putting up a good chase.
I am not interested in the pool at all, I am kind of avoiding it.
I am friendly with kids but I should probably be adopted by a family with kids over 7 years old because of my size.
This is my story so if you are interested in giving me an awesome forever home, please contact your family rep. ASAP.
