Hello! My name is Flapjack and I'm a pretty mellow boy. I'm not super high energy, but I enjoy chewing on toys. I can be stubborn, but I'll respond when you're firm. I behave perfectly in my crate and I'm doing great with hand feeding. I ignore the cats pretty much, but every once in a while I try to play bow with them. They don't seem to want to play with me, though! My Fomma says I'm very smart and I pick up on training quickly and am easily redirected. I'll definitely need an owner who can be firm and consistent. I'm a lap dog (aren't I?) and like to give lots of kisses. I will climb on your lap for snuggles... I love to be loved!
MVPC took me to the vet, and they found out I have DLM, which is dilated cardiomyopathy (apparently that is often found in my breed). I'm on enalapril, which I'll need to remain on for the rest of my life, but the doctor suggests I'll have a long, healthy life otherwise.

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
