Rufus (Neutered)'s Story...
"Rufus" is a handsome 2-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on January 19, 2017 after he was found in Vincent Ohio. This adorable boy had an injury to his tail and was desperately in need of medical attention. He was examined by a veterinarian who made the decision that Rufus' tail should be amputated, so he spent a few days in the vet's clinic before coming back to our shelter. "Rufus" is now completely recovered from the surgery and is ready to find a fantastic home.

"Rufus" has a pale gray short smooth coat in a tabby pattern, no tail, and a darling face with beautiful eyes that beg for attention (and a loving home). He has a sweet, lovable personality and is always at the front of his cage for some loving :)

"Rufus" was given vaccinations, wormer, and Revolution flea treatment on January 19, 2017. He was neutered at the same time his tail was amputated. These photos were taken on January 19th before Rufus' surgery. We will take updated photos now that he is no longer wearing his 'cone' and is looking even more handsome these days <3

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus (Neutered), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
