Coco's Story...
If you could have seen little Coco when he was surrendered to our Newark facility a short time ago, you would not even believe he is the same dog. Coco was turned in by his family because their owner would no longer allow him and it's all for the best. Coco was so overgrown and matted that you would think he was a white ball of tumbleweed, not an adorable little dog. Coco has been transferred to us at Popcorn Park and has put his past behind him and is like a brand new pup. This 3 year old maltese is a little shy when he first meets you but he's very, very sweet. He's calm and mild-mannered and a real little gentleman. Coco will need a few minutes to get to know you because it seems he didn't get much socialization in his former life but once he has come to trust you, he'll be your best friend for life. He's well behaved and mature, and would do best in a more quiet home with no young children. Coco seems just fine with other well behaved dogs too. This little darling is ready to start life over again in a loving home with a family that will take good care of him forever. File#27025 1/4/17

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coco, a Forked River Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
