Sky would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for a hiking partner and best friend. At 8 months old and 48 lbs, Sky is just waiting to be a companion that accompanies his guardians everywhere a very intelligent and well-behaved dog is allowed. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with great temperaments, as well as so beautiful, end up in urgent situations. It just doesn't get much sweeter than Sky.
Sky was a last-minute save for us...he would have been euthanized in a dismal Kansas shelter if kind rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This dog is awesome with so much life lying in front of him...a life in which he can bring so much joy to a special family.
Sky, being just a puppy and newly rescued from a very challenging life, is a blank slate waiting to learn about his world. With clear guidance and positive reinforcement group training classes (we provide a list of approved trainers in your area), Sky will have great behavior and be a very bonded companion. He is an all-time snuggler, loves his people and will work his way into any heart!
Sky may be frightened initially after transport since rehoming is scary ..but with love and nurturing, he will absolutely shine. We envision Sky with a loving and kind family with dog-crazy kids...he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their company. Farfel's wouldn't be open to Sky spending his days alone while his family works full-time outside of the home. He's a sensitive puppy and wouldn't be happy under these circumstances.
Sky loves children.. we would like a bit older, dog-crazy kids who can be gentle and understanding that Sky is just a puppy. He requires soft and gentle handling as well as leadership. He would be perfect for those family members who enjoy long hikes in the beautiful Colorado scenery...Sky would love nothing more than to share the experience. He is always up for for fun and exercise. Being just a puppy, he's fascinated by the activity around him. Sky breathes in the air, so happy to be free of the dismal shelter environment. Then, maybe his favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed beside his favorite people.
Farfel's has requested that Sky be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this area of Kansas. If it doesn't, we'll be happy to cover all costs for Sky's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
