My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Violet was frightened as she came into a very high-kill shelter in New Mexico. She's a sensitive girl...and through it all she seemed like an old soul as she took it all in. She was never nasty or snippy..just initially concerned with new people who might hurt her. She soon found out otherwise and has spent a good part of her shelter time in the arms.. and warming the laps of shelter personnel - needless to say that she's a favorite. It just isn't in her nature to be anything but sweet once she feels comfortable.

Violet, at 9 - 12 months old and 15 lbs, represents the sad irresponsibility that is so present when pet guardians choose not to spay/neuter...they're homeless and confused. These unwanted dogs deserve a great life every bit as much as any other great companion. Violet has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. While initially shy..she comes around with those who are kind and respectful. She loves to snuggle and show her devotion in so many ways. Violet enjoys her relationships with gentle dogs as well...it seems that she derives confidence from being around these positive-energy pups.

Violet tries very hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and nurture her. Her tail wags like a helicopter when she sees a possibility for a pat or any kind gesture. She would be overjoyed if she got gentle attention. It would bring a light to those concerned eyes!

Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Cavalier/Maltese mix (or at least that's what the Kansas vets tell us..all we know is that she's so sweet and adorable!). Once Violet gets a spa day for the first time..there won't be a more beautiful girl around. Her stunning fawn-colored coat will frame the kind glow in her eyes that speaks of a gentle soul.

We're seeking a family that wants to spend quality time with this exceptional girl. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in by people who love her...she'll return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Violet would enjoy retirees or a family with older dog-crazy children who will be gentle and loving toward the this sweet girl.

A positive reinforcement training class would also be great for bonding between Violet and her people. It's a new world for this sensitive dog and she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family.

Violet will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out healthy and well-balanced pups. Farfel's has requested that Violet be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Violet's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Violet will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 2/18/17. If interested in this beautiful and sweet...and often very silly and entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
