Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***Due to popular demand we will no longer be accepting applications for Darwin. Thank you so much for your interest!***
DARWIN - Male, Beagle mix, 4 yrs, 28 lbs.
Darwin is a fantastic dog who ticks all the boxes, making him a truly wonderful companion! He’s perfectly housetrained, crate trained, quiet, polite, and extremely affectionate (while also being independent and happy to spend time on his own).
Darwin is very low maintenance and enjoys napping the day away in the warmth of a sunbeam, but he also has his playful moments and loves to play fetch and teach his stuffies who’s the boss! He is totally non-destructive and can be trusted to not get into any trouble when left alone. Darwin’s leash manners are excellent and he really enjoys his daily walks. He occasionally likes to wrestle with his foster sister, but also isn’t shy about telling her when he’s not in the mood for such shenanigans – after all, he’s a gentleman!
Darwin is a sensitive little guy, but care must be taken to ensure that he understands his place in the household – his adopters must be both loving and firm so that he doesn’t feel tempted to take on a leadership role in the human “pack.” In the past, Darwin has exhibited some dominance behaviours in his relationship with his people, so his adopters must be willing and able to establish and enforce clear boundaries and rules so that these issues don’t reappear. For this reason, it would be better for Darwin to go to a home without small children. He would also benefit from obedience classes to help him create a strong and healthy bond with his adopters. While in foster care, Darwin has been the perfect houseguest, and although we never want him to leave, we also know that his forever family is out there waiting to meet him!
