My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JACKSON was transferred to our shelter on 2-17-17, after spending the better part of a year (along with many other cats) living in a small cage. He is a senior kitty, approximately 10+ yrs old and is FIV+. (FOR INFO ON FIV, PLEASE ASK A SHELTER VOLUNTEER FOR THE MEDICAL HAND-OUT SHEET) He's a very sweet cat with the softest voice we've ever heard. Very laid back and mellow, but will eagerly come to the front of his cage for loving when you approach. Looking for a loving kitty who is "low" maintenance as far as energy goes? For a kitty who has the look of the Cheshire cat, with a large, handsome face? Then Jackson is your boy!

The animals that are posted are available, unless it is stated 'adopted'. If one is 'pending' you still may submit an application in case the adoption does not go through. The Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center has created a committee who reviews all applications before releasing any animal to a new home.

If you visit our homepage www.wacshelter.com where there are links to the questionnaire/application that helps us to place the animals into homes that match both the adopter’s and animal’s needs. Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center reserves the right to decline the adoption of any animal for any reason if it feels the home will not be a good match.

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
We will make every attempt to contact approved applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received.
Please understand that by answering the questions does not guarantee the adoption of the pet, nor are you obligated to adopt the pet.
We adopt to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis.

*ADOPTION FEE: Cats are $65 (cash only-sorry we can not make change) that includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine combo test. Rabies vaccine if old enough. If you are adopting a kitten or cat please bring a carrier.

Hours for Adoptions:

Monday, Tuesday & Friday from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
Saturday: 10am to 2pm.

Please check our Facebook page for any special events or bonus adoption hour days.

You may email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any questions.
The Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center is located on 1170 Grove Street (between 11th and 13th) in Wyandotte, MI.
There is more information as well located on our home page.
