Midnight's Story...
Meet Midnight. Our Seniors With Animals Project (SWAP) volunteers have been walking Midnight for the past 10 months for his senior mom 3x per day, 7 days a week. Midnight was rescued by his mom six years ago and now at the age of 9, his mom is very ill and can no longer keep him. He is a very sweet dog and very low maintenance. He is about 55 lbs, neutered, and up to date on all his shots. He just had his teeth polished and a few extracted so he has been practicing his smile. If you are looking for a low key companion, then Midnight is your guy!

Contact Melissa at Melissa@paws-li.org if you are interested in giving this senior the retirement he deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Midnight, a Hicksville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Hicksville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Hicksville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hicksville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hicksville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hicksville paves the way for another one to be saved.
