Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Remember when you were kid and you would run as fast as possible and then hurl yourself down a slip slide gliding awkwardly to the end? That's our Coco, clearly the winner for the best belly rub recipient. She takes a running leap, throws herself onto her side, flies across the grass and aims to land at your feet for a good tummy massage. Graceful she is not but after all she has been through, there is nothing better than seeing her happy and carefree. When we rescued her from a high kill shelter, after only 2.5 years, it was clear that she was used for nothing more than breeding. With little human interaction, she was extremely shy, but very sweet, and it was clear this throw away mama was happy to put those days behind her. Since being a part part of One More Dog family, her hesitancy has disappeared and Coco is making up for lost time by zooming around the yard, playing with her toys, wiggling in every direction and doing lots of exploring. Our girl has the smooshy, wrinkle brow down to a science and the sleek body of a panther so our best guess is our affectionate lug is a Bullmastiff mix. As full of strength at 75lbs. as she is with love, Coco would thrive with an active family who is dedicated to working with her on her on basic obedience and continuing to help her build trust, confidence and a bond with her people. Cocos is happy to play with other dogs (no kitties please), but sturdier pups who will embrace her goofy, clumsy energy would be best. Older kids would also be ideal as Coco is a big ol' girl but families will be considered on a case by case basis. Coco is is housebroken when kept on a schedule, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are ready to show this sweet girl what it means to be loved, please fill out an application at omdrescue.org.
