My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ SUZY Q Female 1 – 2 years & AVAILABLE - for more photos of SUZY Q please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/suzy-q2017.html ✰✰

Say hello to SUZY Q! SUZY Q is an adorable smooth coat, black and white Border Collie, a bundle of love! SUZY Q came to our rescue as an expectant mom. She had four pups and quickly became a super mom. With her pups adopted, she is ready to find her own forever home. SUZY Q is gentle and affectionate. She can be shy at first meet, but given time and a warm reception, you will win her over. She is very happy to just lounge around and be a couch potato with you, but she can also be full of energy, as one might expect of a Border Collie. SUZY Q loves to explore and is curious about most things, especially new environments. She is small in stature, but large in personality. She has the confidence of a watch dog and does well to alert you of strangers. Suzie Q would probably be happiest and most successful with a new Mom or Dad experienced with the herding breed and in a home as either the only dog or with a single, low-key dog. Her experience with cats has been limited, yet successful.

SUZY Q appears to be a secret toy player! She seems like she doesn’t play with toys, but a toy can often be found where she has been sleeping or laying. She knows her name, is house trained, comes when called and sits when asked. She is learning to lie down when prompted and takes nicely to walking on a lead. She is treat motivated, but praise also works with her. She needs little to no correction. SUZY Q probably wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to sleep snuggled next to you in bed (if permitted), but she has taken well to her crate, a safe quiet place of her own.

Any prospective adopter of SUZY Q should ask themselves do I have time to become new best friends with SUZY Q and do I understand the herding breed, and am I able to channel her energy in a positive manner? If so, SUZY Q could become the best companion you could ever ask for or hope to find.

SUZY Q is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about SUZY Q, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

SUZY Q is being fostered in Rancho Cordova in Sacramento County, California.
