Facts about Guero aka Hooch

  • Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
  • Sex: Male
I am an approximately 5 year old neutered male Dogue de Bordeux weighing about 81 lbs. I was surrendered because my family had to move to a small apartment and couldn't take me with them.

I am a friendly and happy guy who they raised from puppyhood. I grew up with a small, older chihuahua and lived peacefully with that dog for a few years before the chi passed away from old age. I spent most of my time outside, though I often had someone out there playing with me. I was around lots of people of different ages, My favorite person was a 4 year old girl who would spend hours playing fetch with me. I was very gentle and playful with her. I don't do good with babies or kids who cry/scream because it scares me and I get nervous! My former family also took me out with them often and say that I ride well in the car and walk well on leash. If I see other dogs while they were out or when he was in the yard, he mostly ignored them. I also ignored any cats or birds that came into the yard.

Overall, I am a big goof! I am definitely playful and super snuggly. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application at pawspetadoption.org. THANKS!

About Pet Adoption and Wellness Services (PAWS)

About Our Rescue Group...

Pet Adoption and Wellness Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, and trainers, we are able to rescue animals, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully-screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Our Adoption Process...

We required those interested in adopting a dog or cat to fill out our online Pet Adoption Application and Agreement, which is on our website at www.pawspetadoption.org. Our Board of Directors will review your application and get back to you asap. If your application is approved, we will arrange a meeting with you and the adoptable pet. If the pet appears to be a good fit for your family, we may visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for that particular pet. We also require a $200 adoption fee for most dogs, $75 for Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas and $25 for cats, along with a signed contract indicating that you will properly care for the adopted pet and return him/her to us if it doesn't work out for any reason.
