My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I am named Pepper Hartley because my fur looks like it has been sprinkled with pepper and I have a big heart shape on my side. The girls go crazy over it!

I am only a year old and weigh 20lbs. I am very energetic, love to snuggle and be with my people. I am still a puppy after all. I don't chew up stuff I am not supposed to and I know to potty outside.

I am not so sure about little kids. They try to take my bone and I have to warn them. I don't resource guard anything but will eat any food that is available.

I am energetic and love to play. If you have a fenced back yard, that is a plus in my book! I don't mind being in my crate, but hey, I am young and want to play. I am really smart and if you show me what to do, I will do it.

If you are looking for a spunky, loving, and very handsome long dog, I just might be your new bff!

If you are interested in adopting Pepper Hartley, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Pepper Hartley 's adoption fee is $400.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Pepper Hartley will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
