My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zack is 6 years old and weighs 15-pounds. He is bonded to Zeek. Their adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration).  A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt them by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

UPDATED BIO 07/18/2017: Hi every pawdy! It's us again, Zeek and Zack. Our bios are together because so are we. If you are looking at one of us, then you are looking at the other one. We have been together our whole lives and we come as a twosome – that means you get both of us.

Here’s a little bit about Zeek. He is a cutie pie for sure. He loves to squeak a toy and loves to be loved. Zeek gets along well with the resident pups and loves Zack very much. He is also great when taking a bath, and all aspects of grooming. Zeek needs a fenced yard since he likes to race around and get his exercise. He is just an all-around camper.

Here’s a little bit about Zack. Like Zeek, he also likes a squeak toy and being loved. Zack is the more laid-back one of the twosome. Zack is also great in the bath and a good boy all around He is the first one to the sofa on movie night. Some call him a couch potato but I would like to think of him as a movie expert.

From Foster Mom: Some say two doggies are double trouble. But with these two, it is double the love. Some say they will be lucky to get a good home. No, their adopters will be the lucky ones to get these two boys.

I really can't say enough good things about these boys. But I will say this.

Anyone lucky enough to get these boys will hit the jackpot. They are real treasures for sure.

UPDATED BIO 05/17/2017: Hi, it's me Zack. What's the holdup here? Zeek and I are still waiting for our forever home together.

I am really a great pup. I just love to be part of the family and I’m as laid back as they come. I just like hanging out with my family. I’m cool with whatever everyone wants to do – that’s ok with me.

I am so nice and polite that I’ll even be happy to share your bed with you. I do give you plenty of room and I don't move around at all. Zeek and I will need a nice yard to play in – we would rather be out together in a backyard and letting the breeze blow in our hair than walking on hard surfaces. We really don't care for the real world, just your world.

Zeek is pretty cool, too. He has to be near me so he can squeak that silly toy in my ear. He’s really lucky that I love him so much, ‘cuz that can be annoying. I really think you should give us a chance to show you how much love we have for our humans. We will make you so happy. We have been waiting in our foster home a l-o-n-g time for a family to love.

UPDATED BIO 04/09/2017: Hi everpawdy, Zack here. I am still patiently waiting for the right home for me and my brother Zeek. I’m all ready to go to my forever home with him. Zeek and I have had all our vaccinations and even had dentals. You see, Zeek and I love each other very much and it wouldn't be possible for us to be apart. We have been together from the start and just couldn't ever bear to be separated.

I am really the sweetest boy. I just love to love you. I do have what some consider a minor “situation”. You see, I am really not very happy about other doggies – well, you know, other than my brother Zeek. I don't really know why because I also get along just fine with my foster brothers and sister – it took a few days for us to get to know one another, but hey, that happens to everypuppy, right? I guess maybe I am afraid that others may try to hurt my person or Zeek. So I kind of turn into a little "gremlin". But trust me, I am a "gizmo" at home. Foster Mom thinks that we would be perfectly content to be the only two doggies in your home, you know, since we wouldn’t want another dog to feel left-out of our brotherly bond. We are very kind-hearted like that.

Zeek and I are not big fans of the leash, either. And it’s these two “situations” that led Foster Mom to say that Zeek and I will need a home that has a fenced-in yard. A nice one, please. Zeek and I love to run around and play. This doesn’t mean that you can never walk me on a leash, it will just take a lot of repetition and remindin’ me of what you expect of me, but in a kind and gentle way.

I am really a perfect gentleman. I am a good eater, I do my business where I’m supposed to, and I listen really well to my Foster Mom. I’m just very picky about meeting other dogs when I’m outside on the leash. Do you think you could still love me? I know I could love you – a lot. Could you give me and my brother another chance at a loving home?

UPDATED BIO 03/07/2017: Hi everypawdy, Zack here. ! I know you have been curious about me, right? Thanks! I'm here in my foster home with my brother Zeek the Geek, lol! We have been together since the day we were born and need to stay together since Zeek makes me happy all the time. You will be happy to know that I am house-trained and go out in the backyard or on a pee-pee pad. Well, every now and then there is an accident - but I think it is Zeek that does it. I like to hang out and watch the tube, and I also like to look out the window to make sure no danger lurks in the neighborhood. Foster Mom says that I am a very good boy Me and Zeek are ready to go to our forever home. We have had all our vaccinations, a dental, a microchip and even got fixed. Neither of us knew we were broken! Oh well, you can complete an adoption application for us and maybe it will be your lucky day. It sure would be our's. Zeek and I are very lucky to have each other and I think you would be lucky to have us, too. Initial bio 2/12/17: Zack and his brother Zeek just arrived at their foster home. They have been together since birth and are very bonded to each other. Zack and Zeek will need to be adopted together. Zack and his brother are possibly Shih Tzu/Yorkie mixes (shorkies). Their foster mom is just getting to know them so we don't yet know a lot about them.. What we do know is they will need all their vetting and they will need to be neutered. Zackis the more dependent of the two. He is always looking to make sure he knows where Zeek is. When they are together they love to cuddle up together and kiss each other. As much as these boys love each other they also love their people. They do not do well on a leash yet, but they were great in the long car ride to their foster home. They slept together in their crate the whole time with not a whimper or bark. More will be coming on Zack and his brother Zeek as their foster parents get to know them better.
