My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Izidora: 2 yr old White Mitted, Seal Point Ragdoll mix

Look at the cute little white goatee this girl has. It matches her four snowy white feet. She is a young girl, still slender and medium-sized. As she matures, her seal point markings, especially on her head, will deepen in color.

Izi was surrendered to us along with white mitted Snowdrop and Pierre, both now adopted. She may have been their mother. Her identical sister, Aurelia, is currently nursing her two newborns and will not be ready to be posted for some weeks yet. These kitties came from a family that had too many kitties. How quickly the numbers grow! Purebreds was happy to offer to help find homes for these lovely cats.

Izidora has recently had kittens herself, her second litter, and she is a little unsettled because of that. Mommy cats don’t like change or interference in their world and certainly are not happy to be relocated in a foster home in the midst of motherhood. She has been spayed now and is, I think, happy to be done with the kitten thing. I say that because the first week we had her, she would burrow into a pillowcase and her fairly mature, but still young, kittens would pile up as close as they could get to her on top of her as she lay in the pillow case. Awww. “Come on out mom.” That indicates to me that she was tired of her 3 kittens by the time we got her. Don’t you think? She was a sort of lackadaisical mom. She wasn’t hiding because she was frightened by the way.

So now Izidora is ready for her new home. She likes attention from humans. Her favorite trick is to push her head passionately into your hand as you scritch her under her chin. She loves that. Since she is still so young, she is playful and full of spirit. She will chase a feather or lazer light happily for what seems like hours. She likes to be petted and purrs loudly when you do, but she would rather not be picked up. You can certainly do it and she is nice about it, but she wiggles and would rather you put her down.

Izi needs some good, solid stability in her new home. I think it will take her a few months to believe she is now a treasured kitty so she can relax and start training her humans. She has always been one of a large number of cats. The other cats from this family have quite quickly decided that all the one-on-one attention they are now getting is just perfect. I think Izi needs the same love and she will unfold herself happily in her new circumstances.

So she needs a quiet, stable, loving home. I would not suggest a family with little children or lots of dogs or noise or commotion. I think she would be fine as an only cat but could also be a companion to a good-natured, gentle kitty.

Izidora eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

They are fostered in Santa Cruz. Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or toharrietjane@comcast.net if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.
