Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dear Forever Family,
Have you been looking for me? I am here, in my foster home in Aurora. I have been staying here since I got rescued from a high-kill Missouri shelter. I don’t know why I was a stray but I am really glad I was because a little gal like me; who is really quiet doesn’t belong in a shelter where the big dogs stay.
I’m glad you’re reading my profile. That means you’re interested in me. Can I tell you about myself? I am 2 years old and my name is Sadie but my foster Mom calls me Sadie Mae … I answer to both. I have a champagne colored coat. Now, when you hear the words champagne in with the words Chihuahua you might think “Diva”, right? Well, that is not me! I am the most laid back gal and you will be very surprised. But I don’t think I am purebred Chihuahua and the IAR Volunteers don’t think so either. They think I’m a Chi-Weenie. I might have a little Doxie in me. I have a barrel chest like Doxie and my bark is like a Doxie not like a Chihuahua. Plus when I walk my little legs prance out like Doxie not like a Chihuahua.
I am a bit shy in the beginning but give me time to get to know you and if you let me I will be on your lap in no time. I get along with lots of dogs. In my foster home, I have two boyfriends. Don’t tell either one of them, okay? One is just staying temporarily and the other is a foster fail. Both are boys and we hang out on the couch together. There’s a girl dog but she’s kind of cranky. But she’s cranky with all dogs. We like it when our foster Mom hangs out on the couch with us. We get the “lap time”. There’s no fighting, just cuddling and oh, lots and lots of kisses.
I am very treat motivated but not food aggressive. I like to go for my walks. I have to go outside on walks to do my business (I’m house trained, of course) and I walk so well on my leash. I don’t mind the cold. Which is another thing about Chi-Chi’s. Some don’t like the cold but not me – it’s okay.
So, my Forever Family, I hope one day we can meet. Maybe we can have a play date. When you do come meet me I might be a bit shy but please give me time to get to know you. A treat might work but what will work the best is patience and in time I will be snuggling with you and asking for belly rubs. I really, really would love to have a forever home and a family that would love me forever. Maybe I can be your Princess instead of a Diva?!?
Xoxo, Sadie (Mae)
