Important Note

RUSTY is best friends with KATIE. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Isn't little Rusty a beautiful little fellow! He is a bigger Yorkie, and he's so very sweet. He was born around January of 2008, and he and his very best friend Katie, a little Terrier mix girl, had it made. They had a great home, lots of love, and everything was going well. Then a very, very sad thing happened---their human mommy passed away. No one else in the family could take them, so PAWS was contacted. Rusty has a very sweet disposition, and he keeps his cage so clean we think he is housebroken. Because he and Katie adore each other, we want them to go to their new home together. You can see Katie elsewhere on this website.

About PAWS' Place Adoption Center

About Our Rescue Group...

If you are interested in adopting, please e-mail Carol at pawspawscs@yahoo.com, and she will get back to you as soon as possible. If you live in the area, please come see us!! If not, please keep us in your thoughts. We need monetary donations badly in order to keep this wonderful operation going, so, if you are able, please send whatever you can. At the present time, PAWS' Place is full of kitty grins and doggy smiles. Please help us keep it that way!!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Pets Are Worth Saving,Inc. (PAWS) is a not-for-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization. PAWS was founded as a means of dealing with the increase in the animal population--specifically dogs and cats--in the Union County(Illinois) area. PAWS was formed primarily to prevent the destruction of valuable, adoptable animals. PAWS is solely funded by donations and fund raisers. PAWS rescues and makes available for adoption homeless and unwanted animals.

Our Adoption Process...

Dogs: The adoption fee for PAWS' puppies and dogs is $200. Occasionally, the adoption fee will be higher and, if that is the case, it will be noted on the animal's profile. When you adopt your new dog or puppy, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on routine shots. If it is six months or older, it will have been tested for heartworms and placed on a heartworm preventative.

Cats: The adoption fee for all PAWS' kittens and cats is $75. When you adopt your new cat or kitten, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on its shots, with the exception of its rabies shot, which must be given by a vet. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ADOPT A CAT OR KITTEN, BE SURE TO BRING A CARRIER OR PET TAXI WITH YOU. WE CANNOT SEND A CAT/KITTEN HOME UNLESS IT IS IN A CARRIER/PET TAXI.

We certainly recommend that you continue your pet's routine vaccination regimen with your veterinarian.

SAME DAY ADOPTIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE, SO IF YOU ARE DRIVING FROM A DISTANCE, PLEASE MAKE ADVANCE ARRANGEMENTS.

IF YOU RENT, YOU MUST BRING A SIGNED RENTAL AGREEMENT FROM YOUR LANDLORD STATING THAT IT IS OKAY FOR YOU TO HAVE AN ANIMAL IN THE HOUSE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A RENTAL AGREEMENT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE COMPANION ANIMAL OF YOUR CHOICE HOME WITH YOU.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS ARE ASKED TO PAY THE ADOPTION FEE IN CASH.

PAWS IS NOT EQUIPPED TO TAKE DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS.
