My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome to Brew!

Meet Rex, a 6 year old puppy who is full of life and eager to please. Rex came to my foster home about a month ago and has made tremendous progress. You see, I believe that Rex was kept in a crate for most of his life, and that when he is let out, he paces because he doesn’t know what to do. But he is overcoming this and doing great. So when he has been playing and is ready to settle down for the evening, he no longer goes in his crate, but instead goes to sleep on the doggy bed I have for my beagles. I do put him in his crate when I am leaving for work; at night when we go to bed; if I’m going to be out of the room for more than 30 minutes.

The following is a list of very important information about Rex:

Crate Trained
House Trained
Must Rex-proof house
Cannot be left alone unattended for longer than 30 minutes, otherwise, he goes in his crate
Good riding in the car
Quick Learner
Quick to Obey
Good with Kids
Good with Other Dogs
Good with Cats
Good on a Leash

I think Rex would be great for someone who can keep him busy with daily walks and lots of play to wear him out. He would also be great in a family home environment. Like I said, he may be 6 years old, but he is still very much a puppy. I sometimes think that he never really got to be a puppy because he was always in the crate. He’s finding his way and is doing great!

So, if you would like to add a 6 year old puppy to your household who is very good, minds and gives lots of love back, then I think you should check him out. He’s a great beagle boy who just needs a chance at a loving home.

Check the website regularly to see which adoption event Rex will be attending. We generally attend Downers Grove (2nd Saturday of each month) and Machesney Park (3rd Sunday of each month).
