My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Due to the nature of our adoption process, this foster is only able to consider forever families within 15-20 miles from zip code 75074. A vet reference and trial adoption will be done before the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.

The call came from the shelter - can you please help with a mom who has just delivered five babies. This call is how Miranda came into foster care. The shelter had gone to spay her and didn't realize that she was pregnant. Not only pregnant but close to delivering five babies. So Miranda got spayed and became a mother all at once. Within three hours of birth the babies and Miranda were in foster care. Miranda understandably didn't feel great but mothered her five puppies who are now able to be on their own. She doesn't have to worry about puppies ever again and she's ready and excited to find a forever home.

Miranda is a very affectionate Labrador mix. She's estimated to be about 2 years old. She is known to try to put her whole body in your lap to get attention but is fine if you just pet and love on her. She's good with other animals and was actually a little afraid of the kitties in her foster home although now she just ignores them. Miranda is friendly with people but can be a little protective of her home. She's not aggressive but isn't afraid to bark at anyone coming near the house. She's crate trained but prefers being with people to being in her crate. We take her out on a regular schedule and have not had many accidents in the house. Miranda will be a great family member for some lucky people. Complete an application today for her at www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org.

Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75074) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.

You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.

Foster Homes are needed in order to help more dogs and cats. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.FurryFriendsAnimalRescue.org and look under HOW TO HELP. Furry Friends provides veterinary care - you provide the home and love!.

We also need Volunteers for Adoption Events at Petsmart and Cage Cleaners.
