Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ta da! Violet is finally ready to take the world by storm and to find her forever family! Another victim of senseless backyard breeding, when we met her eight weeks ago, we weren't sure if Violet would survive, let alone ever be available for adoption. Dumped at a high kill shelter and literally on the brink of death, Violet was so cold her temperature didn't even register, she couldn't lift her head and she was unable to open her eyes. Thankfully, our amazing medical team and Violet's incredible foster family stepped in and with incubator sessions, IV fluids and medications, hand feedings and round the clock care, slowly but surely, Violet began to gain strength. For many weeks, V's gait was unstable and she had difficulty holding her head steady but now at approximately 4 months, you would hardly know that she is different from any other puppy. At an itsy bitsy 11lbs, we don't expect her to be very big, more a Pitbull mix of the teacup variety. In addition, due to the severe neglect and abuse she experienced, her doctors (both her Veterinarian and Neurologist) do believe that Violet is deaf but it certainly won't diminish her quality of life. She is quickly catching on to sign language and learning to communicate with her foster family via hand signals. On some days she becomes fatigued easily and gets a bit wobbly. We just consider her family lucky to have that cuddle time built in because when she gets tired, Violet loves nothing more than a soft blanket and being snuggled in your arms. Our tiny survivor loves to play with other dogs and though she wants to run with the big pups, she will do best with other canine friends who understand her small size. Our incredible girl still working on her housebreaking and crate training but she has perfected, resilience, strength and what it means to be a miracle. Violet is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and will be spayed at 6 months of age.
