Barkley's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Barkley's Story...
Barkley is an extremely charming three-year old, 51 pound hound mix who was rescued from a shelter in West Virginia. He is completely house-trained and can be trusted alone in the house without a crate.

He loves meeting new people (including children) and dogs, and he adores affection. Cuddling on the couch is among his favorite pastimes.

As a hound, he needs routine walks to exercise his nose. He’s young, active, and confident, but he shows tremendous self-control over his energy. He respects peoples’ property and knows which toys are for him. Although he’s still learning basic commands, Barkley is eager to please and very trainable.

If you would like to meet this hug-able hound, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barkley, a Cincinnati Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
