My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucas is a one-year, six-month-old grey male cat. Lucas was found wandering an inner-city street, and was so very thin, dirty, and hungry. Luca’s eye injury is an old one, for it is healed, and in all likelihood occurred during his life on the streets. He’s a beautiful boy, and we laugh when he stretches out on his bed, he enjoys it so much you would think he was at the Biltmore! Lucas is very affectionate, loving, and loves to talk. He’s very easy-going, and it’s apparent he loves his new life of ample food, a warm bed, and a safe home. If you’ve got a lap, Lucas is your cat!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.

Our shelter is located in the Care for Animals veterinary hospital, at 2944 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 9 am to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 9 am to 3 pm. We have an Adoption Open House every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon – hope to see you there! We're also happy to set up appointments.
