Meet River - aka Mr Personality. He's 9 years old but acts like he's 3! He has a gray face but don't let that fool you. We have seen many older dogs with less gray. We think it makes him look that much more distinguished!
He is 12lbs or so and has a gorgeous red coat. His foster mom can't quit petting him and he is not complaining one bit! He is very healthy and fully vetted.
He is super sweet and quite a cuddle bug. He loves to sit in your lap and will burrow under the covers and sleep with you if you let him!
He is crate trained and housetrained. He isn't much of a barker and gets along with dogs. He does have a bit of a prey drive, so best no cats. He likes all humans, just don't know about the little ones but suspect he would be ok with 8 and up.
He loves playing in the yard and sunning. He loves toys most of all. If you play tug of war with him, he will think you are the best! Going for a rides and walks are up there on his list of favorites too.

River will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
