Kiwi's Story...
Meet Kiwi! Who has some kids and a trampoline and wants a cool little 10# guard dog? Kiwi is still on the lookout for her forever home! She is a 1ish year old Chihuahua mix, great with kids (currently resides with a 2 year old and only occasionally steals her snacks), is crate and house trained, loves to play fetch, and evidently loves jumping on the trampoline. She is wary of new visitors at first - and will also let you know how many squirrels are in the yard - but settles down with play and treats. Prefers women to men, but does fine with both. Does well with other dogs! Great pup!

If you're interested in adopting, please visit our website at www.c2cnd.org & click on "adoption process" to fill out an application! Adoption fee for pups up to 2 years of age is $250, 2+ years is $225, & giant breeds is $350 - this covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, heartworm test (if old enough to be tested & treatment if necessary), and spay/neuter.

Due to our thorough adoption process (resulting in prolonged wait times for long-distance families), our dogs will be available to local adopters only. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have questions about a dog, please EMAIL us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiwi, a Charlotte Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Charlotte, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Charlotte.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charlotte already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charlotte breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charlotte paves the way for another one to be saved.
