My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted 4/10/17. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION PRIOR TO CONTACTING US. THANK YOU. Nina, a 4-5 year old about 8 lb. yorkie came to The Nest from a breeder via a local animal shelter. Nina is very shy and really not used to being in a "normal" world - everything just still scares her. However, considering her background she is doing amazingly well and after one week in foster care, she definitely is coming around, making contact with her human care taker and definitely looking for human companionship. She does not care much about the other dogs but would do all right with another pup her size who has a mellow temperament. Nina follows her foster mom all over the yard and watches everything from a "safe" distance. She is still very skittish but at the same time very sweet and affectionate once she gets near you. She does not mind being brushed (we have not had her at a groomer yet so we don't know how skittish she would be there.) She LOVES to eat! :) For Nina we are looking for a calm home with no children (she is afraid of noises and gets startled easily), where her new humans are patient with her and understand her needs as an under-socialized dog. Nina does well in a crate and can easily be house trained (we are working on it) - she is eager to please her person. We also would like a securely fenced in yard (condo patio does not count as fenced in yard) so she can run around and get all the outside time she desires in a secure environment. Nina has been spayed, she tested negative for heartworm, she is current on vaccinations and she is on heartworm/flea prevention. If you are interested in giving this sweet cutie a forever home please fill out an adoption application on our web site. Nina's adoption fee is $350. (Sorry we don't have any real good photos as she is still very shy and hard to photograph. Hopefully we will have more soon.)
