My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eli is a little sweetie who was brought in to a local shelter as a stray. He weighs about 11 pounds and is almost one year old. He is timid when meeting new people but will warm up once he gets to know you. We are looking for a home for Eli that already has a sweet calm dog who could teach Eli the ropes and be his buddy. Eli is skittish and can scare easily in unknown situations or with quick movements so we do not feel a home with children under 7 years old would be a good fit. Eli loves to lay in his human's lap. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home because they are friendly, easy-going dogs. He is calm, but curious, and likes to check everything out by sniffing all over. He is treat-motivated and would be easy to train. Eli is good in the crate. He is house trained and has never had an accident in his foster home. He is a sweet, sweet dog who loves his foster family and would love his new family as well.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be spayed or neutered, on heartworm prevention, and be primarily inside dogs or we will not consider your application to adopt. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
