Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID
Sweetie is a 9 year old Husky/Shepherd mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter after living with 20+ other dogs in a hoarding situation. Sweetie deserves to be spending her senior years in a home, not a shelter so we placed her in one of our foster homes and now she is ready to find someone to love her and cherish her for the rest of her life.
This pretty girl is an easy keeper and is looking for a quieter home that she will happily share with other animals. She is good with other dogs and would prefer to have another dog in the home for her to pal around with. We are told she is also fine with cats; but we have noticed prey drive from her when out in the yard (watch out mice). She has nice house manners, is house trained and will use a dog door; she does a cute little potty dance at the door when she has to go outside. She is also a great size; smaller than average weighing in at just 48 pounds!
Sweetie can be fairly aloof with some people but when she clicks she clicks hard. She takes a bit of time to warm up to someone new but within about 24 hours she will begin to ask for affection. She is not a clingy dog at all and is just content to get some loves and then do her own thing.
Sweetie does have some issues with walking on a leash and we are working to correct that. She gets very nervous when she is out and about on leash, we have found that a Thundershirt helps and continued exposure to walks will also help with this. Remember she had never been outside her little kennel area her entire life and the world can be scary. The nice thing is she is treat motivated and once she settles she loves to walk and has a good amount of energy.
She recently had a full vet work up including x-rays and the only thing they found was some slight arthritis in her hind quarters.
Due to her age we ask that no kids under 12; a calm quiet home environment would be best.
Sweetie is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
Her adoption fee is $50.00.
