My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gabriel was found by a wonderful lady and found his way to FFAR through a very convoluted way. He is truly a "mystery" cat. Oftentimes in rescue we find ourselves wishing "they could talk" so we could know how they ended up where they were and why. Gabriel does talk, but he isn't disclosing where he came from or why he was freshly neutered with an ear notch, the distinctive mark of a feral cat. So here is his amazing story.....Gabriel turned up in an exclusive high rise in the Turtle Creek area of Dallas. The lady who took him in said he was "AT THE GLASS door!! At my building, practically knocking!!" He had been freshly neutered and ear notched (scabs still present on his notched ear), yet he was far from feral. He is the sweetest, most social and loving cat! How did he end up in a posh area of Dallas, recently vetted as a feral?! Why would such a sweet charming boy be in a feral colony to begin with?! And how social does a cat have to be to go to the glass door of a tall busy building and try to get in? Fortunately for him, he was taken in by a person closely affiliated with rescue that lived in the high rise. This kind lady took him to her vet and made sure he was safe to bring inside with her cats and then he went home to her penthouse suite where she utilized social media in an attempt to locate his owner. However, the notched ear was a big clue. Owners don't notch the ears of their pets. This is reserved for outside feral cats so that people can tell from a distance they are sterilized. He had no microchip (he does now). The plot thickens because a real live pet detective saw his listing on social media and inquired about him because he had a name. The lady who found him had named him Gabriel, but the pet detective thought she might have posted him in the found section by mistake since most found cats don't have names. Was he really a lost cat? This interaction hooked these two ladies up and the pet detective has connections with Furry Friends so she hooked Furry Friends up with the lady who found him. Voila! Gabriel enters FFAR's foster/adoption program. What an amazing wonderful cat he is!!!! He is your typical awesome orange tabby male - part dog. He will park in your lap and writhe in pleasure as his head and belly are rubbed. Gabriel is also a bit of a talker when he has something important to say, but not annoyingly so. He gets along stupendously with kids, cats and dogs. He is a young cat with lots of love left to give. Gabriel MUST be an inside only cat. No more feral colonies for him! He has undoubtedly been through a lot and deserves a cushy safe inside home for his permanent home. So if you have room in your forever home and heart for an adorable well-dressed tuxedo tabby with a notched ear that will be your best friend forever, fill out an application and let the love affair begin! If you listen closely, maybe he'll even tell you how he charmed his way from the streets of Dallas to a high-rise penthouse and all the other mysteries of Gabriel. Gabriel is a great cat!!!
