5/2/17: medical update: unfortunately Lita's bloodwork revealed that she is going into kidney failure. She is starting on medication and a kidney diet as well as subcutaneous fluids to help slow down the disease and support her kidneys. We are hoping she responds well to treatment and will be looking for a hospice foster/adopter to continue to care for her whatever time she has left. We have had several dogs with kidney issues have a great quality of life for months/even years with proper treatment and it doesn't have to be a death sentence. Lita is a sweet 12 year old toy poodle surrendered when her owner had to move to an apartment where she couldn't have pets. She is a quiet mellow little lapdog who is fine with other calm dogs and looking for a calm adult home to live out her golden years. Email njwoof@cs.com if you are interested.
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS).
