My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Rudy, a super soft, silky hair ginger tabby just over one year old. Starting as a little kitten I had a wonderful life with young lady, but she had to move without me. I was surrendered to the START-II shelter in order to find a new home. I didn’t like the shelter cages and cats, but I was moved to a foster home and I have blossomed! Let me tell you about it.

My foster home provided a full private room with beds, chairs, windows, shelves and towers to climb, scratchers, and a wonderful cubby hole where I could feel safe and secure. When my foster dad sat in my room, whether I was in my cubby or sleeping in a chair, he would beckon me forward, and in short order I would be cuddling next to him getting wonderful neck and back rubs, and purring to show my appreciation.

The windows in my room opened out to a world of beauty filled with trees, birds, and other animals. I could lay down on a bed with my dad feeling the breeze through the window and seeing all of the wonderful sites. I was saddened when he had to leave the room, not being permitted to follow him out, but knowing that he would be back, to share our companionship.

I would say that I am a calm, mellow fellow, playful but not high-energy, and would probably prefer having my humans all to myself (but I might share with another non-aggressive cat). I like being with my humans and following them around (they say I’m a bit like a dog) and I look forward to this – could this be with you?

All the best,
Rudy

Rudy will be at the Paramus PetSmart on Saturdays, but it is also possible to meet him at his foster home in Ridgewood. For more information and appointments, please call Chris at 201-906-7813 or Doug at 201-670-9856.
