Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Josie and I am a 1 yr. old, 19 lb., female beagle that is looking for a new home. My previous owner was unable to take care of me and another beagle (named Blue) that had been living with us. (I lived in that home since I was a puppy.) Penny Angels was kind enough to take us both in to Rescue and help us find our new forever homes. I was crated for about 8 hours during the day due to my owner’s work schedule. I even slept in a closed crate at night. I can be a little shy when I first meet people, but I quickly warm up to them and reveal my loving side. I get along great with other dogs and kids. I lived in a house with a cat, but was never really in the same room at the same time with him. I like to go for walks to work off the energy that built up in me from being crated so much in my previous home. I do act like a puppy at times, but I eventually calm down and would be happy to cuddle with you while I enjoy a nice belly rub!
I am microchipped and current on my vaccinations. I have an appointment to be spayed soon. I am on heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative. I will need to work on my potty training once I get settled in Rescue OR in my new home; spending 8 hours in a crate every day (and then again at night) did not make it easy for me. I will be using a doggie door in Rescue when I have to go potty and I know that will help me. I’m sure that I will catch on to things once I get used to a daily routine out of my crate. The crate might be a safe place for me to be when left home alone so that I don’t get into any mischief. Some basic training would definitely be helpful to me.
I arrived at Petsmart in Mays Landing, NJ on May 13. I was a little shy each time I met someone new, but the shyness didn’t last long. I am such a sweet girl! I will be at Petsmart again on Saturday if you want to meet me. Please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels if you are interested in adopting me.
