Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sarge is a 4 ½ year old, 95 pound Anatolian Shepherd mix. He has a pretty coat and beautiful golden eyes. Sarge is good with cats and most other dogs. He likes to go in the car and rides really well. Sarge is looking for a forever family with a fenced yard so he can safely explore and no small toddlers. He loves children and is very good with them but could easily knock a smaller child down. Sarge has pretty good manners and knows sit and lay down. He doesn’t jump up on people but could use more leash training.
We know quite a bit about Sarge’s history. He was born about October 22nd, 2012. Someone picked him up free on Craig’s List and then surrendered him to a shelter a month later. He was adopted out of that shelter at 12 weeks old and was with that family thru mid 2016. From there he ended up on Craig’s List again and ended up on a farm living outside. He was surrendered to our rescue from the farm.
It’s been fun watching Sarge come back into a home environment where he belongs. He went from sleeping in the dirt with no shelter to a soft dog bed. The first time he saw his bed he looked at it, tentatively stepped on it and looked at his foster mama to ask her if it was really ok and was his. Sarge was without much attention from humans on the farm and was not too keen on coming up to people at first. It didn’t take him long to figure out he was going to be treated nicely, talked to, and petted at his foster home. Sarge is now coming for attention and loves to be petted and snuggled.
Sarge is house trained, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm tested and micro chipped.
