Baxter's Story...
Baxter is a bright and bubbly boy of about 2 years old that would just love a great home of his own. This shepherd/lab mix came to us as a stray that no one ever came looking for. Baxter is such a bright and bubbly boy. Within a minute of meeting you, he'll treat you as a best friend that he's known his whole life, leaning on you, trying to get your attention. He's so personable and outgoing and Baxter makes friends easily. Baxter is young and spunky, and has lots of energy. He's a strong guy that could use a little training with walking better on a leash, but he is otherwise so well behaved. He's playful and fun-loving, and would love a family that will give him plenty of exercise and take him on adventures from time to time. Baxter is fine with other dogs, ok with cats, and he loves people of all ages though he may be a little much for very young children. He would fit in perfectly with any great family that will give him all the love and attention that he deserves. File#27138 3/28/17

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Forked River Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
