Here's what the humans have to say about me:
10/28/08 ~ Adoption fee decreased(see below).....Leon is in desperate need of a permanent adopting home or Foster care (temporary home). While he was sick with heartworm he was content to rest. Now feeling much better and heartworm free - his activity level has increased to a "normal healthy" level. HOWEVER - he is getting stressed from little activity and being boarded, with minimal interaction --- Please consider Leon. He'd love to have a home!!! 10/10//08 Leon received his last injection to rid him of heartworm. He's feeling better and much more playful. Needs an active home. Scheduled for neuter surgery November 17. Neuter surgery, booster vaccines and routine dental cleaning included in fee for adopting. Suggest home with patience and time to spend loving & guiding this boy. Very receptive and wanting to please humans. <><><> ~~ 9/08 ~~ Leon was found to be Heartworm Positive. Treatment has begun. This handsome fellow is now in need of a home. Permanent adopting home or temporary foster home. Or, how about fostering to adopt? What does this mean? After an application is accepted to adopt, we will continue Leon's treatment to rid him of heartworm. When he's found to be heartworm free - we will schedule his neuter surgery. Heartworm disease can not be transmitted from one dog to another. ~~~~~~~~ Email us w/questions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Leon was pulled from an overcrowded kill shelter in southern Ohio. His time there was up. At 1 1/2 years old this boy is 75 pounds and All Chocolate Lab. Great disposition!! He's been nick named the "shadow" dog. He follows caregiver and stays within eye sight. Prefers being with humans. Wants to please and looks for direction. Great companion / family dog! Seems OK with other dogs and children. Questionable with cats. Does need work on manners - shouldn't be difficult with positive reinforcement. Crate trained, keeps clean. Since being kenneled / boarded (to keep calm) while receiving Hrt Wrm treatment - Needs reinforcement on potty training. Likes to go for car rides and likes water! Happy boy! Adoption fee $160.
