My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Anubis our handsome 5 year old brindle English Mastiff! His foster mom affectionately calls him Nunu. He was given to us due to his owners not being able to correct his nervous and hesitant behaviors towards men. We suspected that this was partially due to the fact that he had never been neutered. So, after his surgery, we gave him some time to recover and allow him to show us his true personality.

Anubis loves women, but he will do well in a home where male presence can be controlled and introduced slowly. He is curious about children, but due to previously living outside, he is unsure of the appropriate way to interact with children under the age of 10. He came from a home with small dogs, but we are unsure if they lived together outside or if the small dogs lived inside the home. Since we have had him, we have not tested him with small dogs, but we do know that he gets along well with medium and large dogs both male and female. Nunu is both curious and nervous around cats, so as of now, we do not know how he would do living alongside them.

Nunu loves to be pet by his family, and he is very fond of baths. He is housebroken and is working on perfecting basic obedience and leash training skills. He was never crate trained, so he is just starting to learn how to go into the crate properly. Anubis is a low energy dog, so he would be best in a home that does not have a very active lifestyle. Besides baths, he enjoys things like riding in cars, hanging out with his people, napping, and eating! He is heart worm negative, up to date on vaccines, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Anubis or any of our other dogs, please feel free to email us at: info@bullpenrescue.org. Our Adoption Application can be found on our website under the ‘work with us’ tab.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you a€™re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a perfect placement so we know that they will not be failed again.
