My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Ozzy is a three-year-old Basenji/Chihuahua/Cattle Dog (best guess); who weighs in a a slim and trim 25 pounds. He was one of 23 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation in Owyhee County by a local shelter. This background has presented a few challenges with him but he is making great progress and is quite the entertaining little guy.

He didn’t receive much training or human interaction in his previous home, so it does take him a while to trust a new human but he's making great progress and gets braver each day. Taking him for a nice walk has proven to be a great way to make friends with Ozzy and of course offering up so yummy treats. Build a bond of trust with him and he will be your best friend forever. He loves to snuggle with his foster mom (and the other dogs) after a long day of play in the yard.

This little man is great on leash and enjoys going out for walks and playing chase in the backyard. Ozzy is an active and playful dog despite being spooked easily. Ozzy lives with three other dogs and 4 cats in his foster home, and they have him helped tremendously. He needs to go to a home with a happy-go-lucky, confident dog(s); he will not do well as the only dog in the household.

Ozzy will need a special home that is anxiety aware and has a lot of patience. He has been taken from one world and into another, and despite his new life having lots of love, it's all new to him. He does like to burrow and hide in confined spaces, like under the couch or behind a shed. With time and trust he will forgo that habit as long as he has a stable, consistent home. Ozzy finds security in his crate at night and should he be feeling overwhelmed so his new home needs to make sure he has access to one.

He needs a securely fenced yard (6’) and he will require supervision until he is settled. Ozzy doesn’t know any commands at this time but he is 100% house trained!

He needs a consistent and safe environment that can let his true loyal and cuddly personality shine. Ozzy will bond to his new family given a bit of time but will need a home with no children (under 15) and someone willing and able to give him the time and reassurance he needs. You won’t be sorry love, patience and gentle guidance and the sky is the limit for this lovely boy.

If you can be the one who completes Ozzy’s life the please apply for him today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

Ozzy is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

His adoption fee is $50.00.
