My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Daytona. I am a 6-year-old, spayed female, shorthaired kitty in need of a home. I am a cat's cat. Humans are neat and all, but I like other kitties a lot. I also love quiet time in my kitty bed, especially if there is someone with me to scratch behind my ears and rub my back (you know the spot!). I have big gorgeous green eyes and silky pure black fur. I'm a shy girl who enjoys quiet, mellow environments. No loud noises and constant chaos for me. You'd have to peel me off the ceiling daily. But, as long as I'm in a quiet, stress-free environment, I am happy to share my home with people and cats. I've had a rough past and now I just want a quiet home where I can peacefully sleep in my bed and play with my rope toy. I need a forever human with a lot of patience and love to give, since it takes me some time to trust new people and get used to new environments. I have good manners though. I do not scratch the furniture and I always use the litterbox like a good girl. I'm easy to get along with and I'm definitely not high maintenance; I just need someone to give me a chance at a new life! Could that be you? Adoption fee: $60. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
