Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Ilsa" is a super-cute 11-yo (born 6-6-06) spayed female Australian/German Shepherd who is loveable, playful, and in great shape for her age. Ilsa had a full vet exam in May with no red flags. She weighs about 65 lbs, which is about 10 lbs over her ideal weight.
Ilsa is very friendly with people right from the start, but alarm barks appropriately when people come to the door. Ilsa is great with kids and loves to be handled.
Ilsa is great w/ other dogs, and has lived harmoniously with her pal "Scarlett", an 11-yo spayed female Lab mix, for nearly 10 years. Previously, Ilsa lived w/ a 6-yo neutered male Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix who she got along with very well. Ilsa did remarkably well with the group of dogs that she met at GSRSV's rescue ranch on 3-26-17, given that she hadn't socialized much with many new dogs up to that point. Within about five minutes she was running around amid the chaos of the bigger, younger dogs--and enjoying the heck out of it. Ilsa is simply one of those dogs who is happy all the time.

Ilsa is NOT good w/ the two cats she presently lives with--which is the very reason she is up for adoption.
Ilsa is fully housetrained and does fine inside when nobody is home. She walks well on leash and likes to go for car rides; she is a polite passenger.
Ilsa's favorite game in the world is to play fetch. She's very good at it and brings the ball right back to you for another throw. See elsewhere on this page for a video of Ilsa chasing after the ball; she defers to the GSRSV dogs, but at the end finally gets the ball herself!) She also enjoys splashing around in a kiddie pool--and perhaps swimming, if given the chance.
Ilsa's former owner Coleen adopted her at about 1 yr old from a rescue group in Lathrop. Coleen had to move to a place where she couldn't bring Ilsa (or her other dog Scarlett) so sought a new home for her through GSRSV.
Norma, a woman in Pollock Pines, adopted both Ilsa and Scarlett on 4-28-17. Ilsa has been great in every regard except she chases after Norma's two cats. So, in fairness to her cats, Norma is seeking a new home for Ilsa.
Ilsa's adoption fee is $85. She is located in Pollock Pines.
