Here's what the humans have to say about me:
One look into those soulful eyes will tell you how sweet-natured this little 5 year old guy is. What Spanky loves most is being with his family. Where you go is where he wants to be. He is happy to sit quietly next to you while you watch TV or be your best friend on a walk. Spanky displays the characteristics of a Miniature Pinscher mix with a traveling man. Where did that curly tail come from? At only 20 lbs, he is a good size for cuddling, but sturdy enough to play with. He is an energetic dog who loves his daily walks where he can say hello to all the squirrel and bird friends he has made. If you will run with him, he will keep pace at your side. If you prefer to ride a bike, Spanky has been trained to run alongside you. He is house and crate trained, although he needs some help with basic commands like sit and stay. He learns fast and is eager to please, especially with a kind word, a treat, and a gentle pet as his rewards. Spanky has been abandoned before and gets anxious when left alone, concerned that his family will not come back for him. He would do best in a home with another energetic little dog who needs a friend and a playmate. He also likes children and even gets along with the cat. This sweet dog wants so much to be a part of a loving family who will never abandon him again.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be spayed or neutered, on heartworm prevention, and be primarily inside dogs or we will not consider your application to adopt. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
