My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Mr. Magnum. And am I the perfect dog? Well no…but my foster mom says I come pretty close.

I’m a neutered, 7 year old, 71 pound , yellow lab. I am extremely mellow, love to cuddle and be petted, but I’m not clingy. I’m content just to be in the same room with you.

I love people, dogs and just about everything. Haven’t met a cat, but with my personality I don’t think that would be a problem. Sometimes I get a little too friendly with another dog and get snapped at. But I don’t snap back, instead I go running to mom.

I walk with a taut leash, but don’t pull much. I do get a little overly excited when we first walk out the door…almost pulled my mom down one time…sorry mom. But I’m just so excited to go for a walk. Once we cross the street and start our walk I calm down. I also love car rides. My foster mom says I’m the best behaved dog she’s ever had in the car.

I can play fetch, and know basic commands, like sit, down, out (as in out of the kitchen) oh, I hear that one a lot. I love, love, love treats! I even have a little happy dance I do when I think I’m going to get a treat. Cuteness overload, but it works. I get my treats! I DO NOT LIKE loud noises. Firecrackers terrify me, especially if they are the extremely loud ones, otherwise I pay little mind to outside noises, including doorbells. I very seldom ever bark...so don't count on me being much of a watch dog.

I’m completely housebroken and know how to use a doggie door. I can be left alone if necessary…don’t like it, but, I can safely be left in the house with no destruction. You’ll probably come home and find me sound asleep on your bed.
