My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lacey is our gorgeous tawny colored Neapolitan lady. She is only 5 years old and ready to find her forever home. She came to us from a farm where she lived outside all of her life, so we are excited for the chance to spoil her indoors and treat her as a member of the family.

In her foster home, Lacey happily lives alongside two female Neos as well as one male Neo. They are teaching her how to enjoy the life of an inside dog that is truly loved and appreciated. She adores getting attention from all of the people and kids that she meets. Since she is very curious about cats, we do not feel that she will do well in a home with them. Initially, she was hesitant to go outside to use the bathroom because of her fear of being left outside alone again. After learning to trust her foster dad and Neo siblings, we are happy to say that she has caught on to house-breaking fairly quickly.

We have noticed that she appears to have some discomfort with one of her back legs and feel like this may be due to an old injury. This doesn't seem to impact her quality of life, but her leg is being treated by a vet and responding well. Due to her previous leg injury, she does require short walks and some assistance with getting into cars. Lacey is heart worm positive and will need to continue heart worm treatment at no additional cost to her family. If you have any questions about Lacey or any of our other dogs, please feel free to contact us at: info@bullpenrescue.org. Our Adoption Application can be found on our website under the ‘work with us’ tab.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
