My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET PEA HAS BEEN ADOPTED! We receive multiple inquiries a day asking to adopt one or the other and from people looking for puppies/young dogs. Senior dogs need frequent potty breaks and medical costs/care often rises with age. Please take this into consideration when considering them. Please fully read their bio before requesting an application**Pal's Place would love to introduce you to two very sweet and special little senior ladies in need of a loving retirement home. Kymba and Sweet Pea are a bonded pair of Yorkies that have found themselves in need of a new family in their golden years. Kymba is 12 years old and Sweet Pea is 15.5 years old. Both girls weigh in around 8 pounds. They were the treasured and much-loved companions of an elderly gentleman. The dogs were originally owned by his daughter along with two other Yorkies. Tragically, his daughter passed away and he took in and cared for her dogs after her sudden passing several years ago. The four dogs quickly became his babies and helped him tremendously to cope with the loss of his daughter. The gentleman was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and could no longer live on his own and had to enter a nursing home. The facility he entered allowed him to bring two of his companions along, but not all four. Having no other family members to care for the two dogs that could not come along, he had to make the heart-wrenching decision to surrender Kymba and Sweet Pea to a shelter. We heard their story and could not say no to these precious angels. The girls are now in a foster home in Chicago and they were love to have their own family again soon. They are two of the sweetest, most mild mannered little dogs you could ever hope to meet. They are very friendly with strangers and are not very yappy or high strung. They love to cuddle on the couch and are happy just to have a soft, warm place to sleep. The girls get along very well with other dogs of all sizes as well. Their original owner (the daughter) thought it would easiest to keep diapers on the dogs all the time rather than housebreak them when they were younger, so they are not fully housebroken. They will use puppy pads if left in a smaller area with the pads (within eye sight) and are still used to wearing diapers. Their foster mom uses diapers on them overnight and puppy pads during the day and she's also working on getting them partially housebroken and they are picking up the routine quickly! These little girls will make a lovely addition to a home that appreciates and loves senior dogs! They are very healthy for the age and are up to date with vaccines. Both girls have also had senior blood panels done and dentals and are now ready for their new home. The adoption donation for the pair is $150. These girls are very attached and we will only consider homes that will adopt them together. For more info or for an application, please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com. They are in a foster home and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved.

•The adoption donation for the pair adoption donation is $150. This donation helps to cover their medical while in our care, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip.
