Hello World,
My name is Magical and Mellow Maddie – and I’m a darling and delicate little bichon mix who weighs only 8.5 pounds and is about 4 years old (that’s in people years, you know). You probably noticed that my hair has been shaved (by the shelter people) so it’s quite short now – but I will be a white fluffy girl again soon. Despite the haircut, my foster mom says that I’m about as cute as can be, get along well with people and am very loving. Sometimes she calls me her shadow because I like to follow her wherever she goes.
Mom says I’m happy to be by your side, sit quietly while you work, read or eat. I especially like to sit in laps and promise to keep you warm and cozy during cold winter days and nights. I do a lot of things really well including (ta dah!) the Bichon pattycake. That’s where I wave my front paws in the air as cute as can be and ‘pump’ them longer than you might expect! That makes everyone around me smile! Did I mention that I like belly rubs? Well, actually I don’t like them. I LOVE them! And when I get belly rubs I actually close my eyes and sigh. It’s true! I’m in total bliss!
Dad says I love to run up the stairs and jump onto the bed like I have lived here all of my life. There is no doubt that I warm up very quickly to people, kids, and other dogs, and will attach myself just as well to my forever family.
I’m housebroken too (no typo there!), good on a leash and love to go for a ride in the car to Fosters Freeze to get ice cream with my doggy foster brothers. They are pretty independent and not inclined to play with me, so I entertain myself. I do kind of like having them around, though, when Mom and Dad are not here ‘cause they help me to not feel alone.
Mom and Dad agree that I’m a wonderful and beautiful little package of love that will bring pure devotion to the lucky person that adopts me (aw, shucks!) and that only the most special family will be right for me! That family will need to be around a lot as I love company – and a doggy brother or sister or human brother or sister would be nice, too!
