My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Willow, a dog friendly, cat friendly, child friendly, 13 year old female Chihuahua.

Willow was taken into animal control after someone found her outside on their lawn after a storm. Willow's people did not come forward to claim her.

Willow is in search of a retirement a home. Her needs are basic. All she needs is naps and laps to keep her content.

Willow had a cardiac ultrasound and was diagnosed with a heart condition. Medical management includes enalipril, a low cost medication. Willow's heart condition is called mitral valve disease. There is no sign of congestive heart failure her at this time.

Willow's sight and hearing are also not what they used to be, however, that has not changed her sweet temperament. Willow is house trained. Her morning routine includes going outside right away and a few times throughout the afternoon.

Willow has been spayed, is up-to-date on immunizations, Heartworm negative and microchipped.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
