My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Copper. He is brand new to the DREAM family and is a handsome red boy.
Here is what we know so far-
He is 1 year old and an energetic little guy weighing in at 10lbs.
He is good with all people including the young ones, gets along great with dogs, but NO cats or chickens. You know the prey drive in some dachshunds is very strong!
He is said to be housetrained and crate trained. He will need a fenced in yard or someone who is savvy with leash training and skills.
He is being neutered and will receive all vaccines the third week of August and will be available after 8/20 if all healing proceeds normally.

If you are interested in adopting Copper, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Copper 's adoption fee is $500.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Copper will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
