My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our sweet boy Hudson is looking for a forever family! He is a silly boy who tries to walk himself when on a leash, saying "Look! I can do it all by myself!". He loves to give hugs and has such a happy nature about him. Hudson gets long with everyone he meets and does well with other dogs and cats. He loves to play with his foster sister, Willow. They run and romp for hours. He is very treat and food motivated so we have been working on commands and tricks. He is a very smart and handsome boy and catches on quickly. Hudson would much rather sleep in bed with his person or a comfy spot on the couch, rather than the kennel. He is doing great with house training. Hudson is a very happy, sweet boy and his new family will be super lucky to have him! Check him out in his YouTube video playing with his foster sister: https://youtu.be/YZqu8B0CPK0

Hudson was rescued from a rural outdoor shelter that has a gas chamber in Southeastern Missouri where he was on death row. There is no adoption program there, his only way out was to be rescued. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved his life and have promised him a happy home.

Hudson is a Black Lab/mix, estimated to be 8 to 12 months old, and 35 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed and tested negative for heartworm disease. Adoption fee is $300. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although not required. Home ownership is verified through court records.
